After helping the world’s best runners smash seven World Records in the past two years, the Adidas Adizero silo of footwear have proven their weight in gold as running shoes. And now, the German brand is leveraging some of the shoe’s technology behind the records to launch the new Adizero SL silo.
The Adizero SL is designed for more dedicated runners in mind – those competing in regular races- to give them something that provides a little ‘more’, while still having a reasonable price-point in mind.
Some of the key highlights include the Lightstrike Pro foam drop-in, used in the record-breaking Adios Pro models, that is strategically inserted in the forefoot area to create forward momentum and propel runners onto their next step.
The midsole frame features the Lightstrike EVA foam, which delivers extra cushioning and support in the midsole.
The upper of the shoe also features some interesting tech, including a mesh upper and padded tongue which provides a softer feel on the foot, while also giving better lockdown during higher-speed runs.

The new Adizero SL launches in two different colourways for female runners and male runners – pulse mint for women and lucid blue / lucid fuchsia for men. The Adizero SL retails for R1,999.
