Nokia have started to ship their new cellphone the N8. Nokia, the world’s leading cell phone manufacturer in product numbers sold is in need of some positive news. They have had a number of smart phones that have failed to capture the imagination of the cellphone users.
Nokia is facing increasing competition from Android based phones as the Symbian platform just does not seem to be able to draw developers to it. The N8 will be the last N range phone that will feature the Symbian operating system as the newer N range phones will be using MeeGO software. Symbian will however not be forgotten...

BlackBerry have revealed their tablet the Playbook. The Playbook is yet another response to the resounding success that Apple is enjoying with the iPad. Tablet computer is the hip and happening industry that all manufacturers want to be in.
The 7†tablet has a smaller screen than the first generation iPad. It was quite obvious last night while watching the keynote that BlackBerry where trying to expose features that are not on the current iPad. The ability to multitask and use applications that have Adobe Flash in them was highlighted. The other interesting thing is that the device is tethered....

Tomorrow is Heritage Day, a public holiday in South Africa. It means that it has created a long weekend that will provide us all a chance to relax. The big thing about tomorrow is that it also gives us to be able to reflect on South Africa and the rainbow nation.
We hosted a very successful Soccer World Cup in June/ July and are currently hosting the Champions League cricket. The point that I am trying to make is that we have become a nation that hosts world class events that are very well supported by South Africans. We have our problems (crime and poverty) but those are found in other nations...

In life we remember things that were nice to experience or very exciting. Don’t even bother to mention the negative events that are almost instantly put into the memory bank and forgotten. Take a minute and list all the nice things that come in your mind? I would be surprised if an event like a good play at the theater and a sports event are not recognised as a good experience. Nikon have unveiled the new D7000. The SLR is an expansion of a line of mid-class Nikon DX-format digital-SLR cameras which Nikon manufacture. The D7000 can be seen as an upgrade for users that have D90 and D5000. What is interesting is that this Nikon camera will take a new position in the Nikon camera stable, between the D90 and the D300S.
