The Revolutionary Genesis

0

Printing has seen a lot of research and development in the last 10 years. I can remember feeling like a million dollars when using a dot matrix printer in the early 90’s. At the time it was the only printing solution that was available. Imagine the joy of watching a ribbon being forced against the continuous stream of paper. It sounds awful but at the time it felt like being part of a secret research project which would provide a printer to James Bond.

Fast forward 10 years and there are many more technologies that are used to print characters on a piece of paper. Laser printing, dye sublimation printing and inkjet printers are a few of the technologies available to the public. Commercial printing solutions are also available to ensure low printing costs for corporates as printing is quite an expenditure.

Enter Lexmark and their complete redesign of the all-in-one printer. They have adapted it and made it into a “now-in-one” printer that mounts the scanner up at a near-vertical angle on top of the print engine. The Lexmark Genesis s815 is a definite change to the normal printer in looks and how it operates.

The first thing that will catch your attention is that Lexmark have ditched the traditional look of a all in one printer and have designed something that can be seen as something of a Transformer. The styling is refreshing and new which will definitely make the printer popular with early adopters.

Genesis S815 also functions as a digital photo frame featuring the user’s own images, allowing them to personalise the workplace. In combination with its stylish design this makes it a real eye-catcher in the office so that it can take pride of place on the desktop.

Innovative technologies leading the market
The new AIO-printer includes Lexmark’s new Flash Scan technology which means users can scan documents to their PC in just three seconds . Flash Scan also offers instant preview so users can immediately see what they are getting before they scan, copy or fax.

Advanced technology ensures faster, greener printing
Genesis S815 4-in-1 comes equipped with Wi-Fi-n technology eliminating the need for multiple cables to link with IT equipment, ensuring a neater workplace. This wireless technology also offers three times the network coverage and faster data transfer speeds than Wi-Fi-g technology enabling faster printing and making it easy and quick to access the internet.

I think there is one problem with the Lexmark Genesis S815. I believe that the pricing is a tad more than a normal all in one printer which may turn away prospective owners from purchasing it. I wonder if this design which can be seen as revolutionary will become the norm. If you don’t want an average all in one printer and be seen a tech savvy then the Lexmark Genesis S815 is ideal.
