In 2011, the must have electronic device has been a tablet and I am pretty sure that I can make the argument that tablet usage has become mainstream.  This thought has been confirmed by the amount of tablets (not to be confused with medicine) I have seen in coffee shops and on public transport.  Let me be frank; 2011 was the year of the tablet. They say dynamite comes in small packages. We all know the damage that can be done by a piece of dynamite. Yes, it is not a pretty sight. When HP bought Palm last year it was for one major reason, the WebOS software that Palm makes for mobile devices. So it is not surprising that they first launched a Tablet that uses the software. HP Unveil The 9.7″ TouchPad

When HP acquired Palm in April last year for $1.2 Billion, the reasoning was that HP was trying to diversify its business. The computer industry is moving at great speed towards tablets and smartphones, being the dominant market for manufacturers. I guess no business wants to be left behind as it could be fatal in the long run. Yesterday HP unveiled their second tablet, the HP TouchPad.
