Mid-Level PHP Web Developer

You are a well skilled web application developer with an understanding of your field and the insight to solve problems and increase performance. JOB OUTPUTS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Implementation of software systems according to the accepted technical specifications
  • Delivery on new requirements and enhancements to existing systems
  • Deployment of web applications (both locally and internationally)
  • Contribute to product innovation

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 years programming experience on the LAMP stack (PHP)
A relevant tertiary qualification
Well versed on the technologies that make the web tick such as: HTML, Message Queues, Web Services, XML, REST, AJAX etc.
Exposure to modern MVC frameworks
Previous experience in public web site development
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Previous Linux experience
Experience in Internet startups
Experience in search related technology (e.g. Sphinx or Solr)
Unit testing experience
