Microsoft is due to unveil the long expected update to the Xbox 360 on 21 May 2013. Needless to say this announcement has the console gaming world buzzing. The Xbox 360 has done a great job providing entertainment to millions of consumers around the globe but a refresh is needed. Sony has already announced the PlayStation 4 (but not shown the world how the console looks), so this unveiling can be seen as a response to the PlayStation 4.

On Tuesday May 21st, we’ll mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment. On that day, we’ll be holding a special press event on the Xbox campus and we invite you to join us via the live global stream that will be available on Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE and broadcast on Spike TV if you are in the US or Canada.
On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future.

A typical event invitation from Microsoft but the last sentence is telling. Microsoft has invested significantly into the Xbox business in the last 18 months and it is clear that they are going to unveil something from the future.

If the new PlayStation 4 is anything to go by, then I expect we will see Microsoft announce a handheld device, apps and enhanced entertainment capabilities with the new Xbox. More importantly, what does this launch mean to non US Xbox users?

What would you like to see from the new Xbox?
