Owners of notebooks will most likely agree with me, that one if not the most important decisions to make after buying your notebook, is finding a carry bag for your needs.  It may seem to be very obvious but when you travel often, having a carry bag which is functional helps. There are a few important points to consider prior to buying your bag.

Style
Does it matter to you, how your bag looks? Would it matter if it the bag is black and not colourful. Also keep in mind that gender specific bags are available if you are planning to surprise your partner with a gift.

Form
Is it a top loading bag, backpack, briefcase or a sleeve that will satisfy your needs? These are all things that you need to consider prior to purchasing your carry bag. How much padding is available inside your choice? As I think one should have peace of mind that an accidental bump will not damage your notebook. What kind of fasteners does your carry bag have? Zips and/ or Velcro are common in most of the carry bags but they should be in the mould of industrial / heavy-duty products, as they will be used often.

Manufacturer
If you are “upgrading” from an existing bag then you might want to support the existing manufacturer. Lowepro, Targus, Dicota and Built all manufacture carry bags and are seen all over South Africa.

It is a personal decision ultimately but your budget will assist in your decision making.
