Angelina Jolie stars in this survival thriller where she plays a firefighter who has to help protect a teenager who witnessed a murder from two assassins. Not only do they have to dodge bullets, but also Montana’s wilderness and an encroaching forest fire. Alongside Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Jon Bernthal, and Tyler Perry also star.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw

Release date: 14 May 2021

Part reboot, part sequel for the Saw franchise, Spiral: From the Book of Saw sees Chris Rock in the starring role, alongside Samuel L. Jackson. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran, brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Rock) and his rookie partner take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the centre of the killer’s morbid game.

The sequel to 2018’s Peter Rabbit is releasing this May, and picks up with the first film’s original characters, Bea, Thomas, and the rabbits, who are doing their best to make their new intertwined family work, but Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his shenanigans are appreciated. When his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.

Cruella

Release date: 28 May 2021

Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, and Mark Strong star in this origin/retelling of 101 Dalmatians’ lead villain, Cruella de Vil. Andrew Gunn (Freaky Friday) is producer on the film, with Glenn Close (who previously played the character in the previous 1996 live-action adaptation 101 Dalmatians and its sequel 102 Dalmatians) serving as executive producer. The movie follows a young Cruella de Vil (known as Estella before transforming into her devilish alter-ego), who has hopes of becoming a fashion designer, but life seems intent on making sure her dreams never come true.

A Quiet Place: Part II

Release date: 28 May 2021

The release date for the sequel to sensory-horror film A Quiet Place has been pushed out again and again, but that doesn’t hamper our excitement one bit. Emily Blunt returns to her role from the first film, searching for a new haven for her children in a world overrun by blind but deadly monsters. Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou flesh out the cast, while writer and the original’s star John Krasinski also reprises his role from the first film through flashback sequences.
