Nikon D3300

The D3300 might sit at the bottom of Nikon’s entry level DSLR cameras but don’t let that fool you into thinking that this isn’t a great camera.

Its 24MP sensor delivers great images, it’s incredibly easy to use, boasts an impressive battery life and is completed by an impressive selection of lenses and accessories.

It might have limited connectivity options but it’s great value for money and beginner photographers would be hard pressed to find better.

 

 

 

Pentax K 70

The Pentax K 70 might be advertised as a sports and outdoor camera but it’s great for novices and photography enthusiasts, whether you’re inclined to shoot indoors or outdoors.

It’s dustproof, weather-resistant and cold-resistant all the way down -10 degrees Celsius. There are 100 seals located throughout the body and the grip is designed to stay grippy even if you’re wearing gloves.

The K 70 has a 24.2MP APS-C sensor and captures video at 1080p.

It’s great features – including the anti-shake technology – make it great for novices and photography enthusiasts.

 

 

Sony Alpha A7S ii

Sony’s A7S II is one of the best video shooting stills camera available. The12 million pixel resolution allows better light gathering and great video quality – including 4K video. It produces video close to that of professional-level cameras, but is smaller and lighter.

Some of the highlights of this camera are :

  • Super-high ISO ISO 409,600 maximum
  • 4K video recording
  • Great low light AF system

The A7S ii is a great camera, but it is quite expensive and optimised for low light and videography.

 

 

Canon EOS 750D

Canon’s 750D (aka T6i) is a great camera that delivers superb image quality. It has a polished control layout which is easy to use and a touchscreen interface which makes it much quicker to use.

It has a 24MP APS-C format sensor,19-point phase-detect AF system, Wi-Fi and NFC built in and a 3 inch vari-angle screen.

The 750D is a well thought out camera with incredibly useful features which make it a great camera for first time photographers.
