Vegan-Friendly Wine Launched by Delheim

0

Wine is delicious, so that’s a win; but wine that’s also good for the environment? That’s a bonus!

While the term ‘vegan wine’ might sound a bit bizarre (isn’t all wine considered vegan?), the typical wine making process often uses products derived from animals, thereby limiting the availability of wines suitable for vegans and vegetarians to drink.

Luckily for herbivore wine lovers there’s finally a solution as Delheim Wine Estate has just released two vegan wines: a 2018 Pinotage Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc!

Rather than using animal-derived fining agents — such as casein (milk protein), egg albumen (derived from egg whites), fish oil, and gelatin — Delheim has adopted using a plant-derived protein to make these two wines making them totally vegan-friendly!

But of course, the taste is still there. If you’re looking for something that reminds you of a perky pink spring breeze, the  Pinotage Rosé should be on your list. On the other side of things, the pale green-hued Sauvignon Blanc giveswine lovers a more tropical, complex body with aromas of citrus and gooseberry, and green figs and lime. This wine is delicious with aubergines and seasonal salads.

The 2018 Delheim Rosé (R75) and Sauvignon Blanc (R79) are both available online.
