As South Africa heads into the festive season, YouTube has released its annual Rewind – looking back at the most-watched videos for the year in South Africa and globally.
This year South Africans were after a little bit of distraction – the top 5 most watched videos (excluding major music labels) were all entertainment videos. Topping the list was local artist Bhizer with 2017’s smash hit Gobisiqolo. Next up was another South African artist – Prince Kaybee with Charlotte (Ft Lady Zamar). And, making it three in a row for homegrown talent, Sun-EL Musician – Akanamali Feat. Samthing Soweto was the third most watched video by South Africans this year.
