Is The Nokia 3310 Making A Comeback?

0

Who doesn’t remember the Nokia 3310? Easily the most well-known Nokia model of it’s time, the 3310 was renowned for it’s  compact size, excellent battery life and it’s resiliency. And if you were lucky enough to own a Nokia 3310 back in the day, we’ve got some good news for you.

The Nokia 3310 could be making a comeback at this year’s Mobile World Congress

The original Nokia 3310 was released back in 2000 and was able to sell more than 100 million units before being discontinued.

HMD Global is rumoured to be launching 4 handsets under the Nokia brand at this year’s MWC in Barcelona, and one of them is apparently a “modern” version of the classic Nokia 3310. The new 3310 is being touted as an affordable replacement feature phone rather than a high-end smartphone. It’s rumoured that the updated 3310 will be retailing for around $60, which means that if it ever makes it to South African shores we can expect a price tag of +R1 000.
