Things are heating up and locals and tourists alike are looking for different things to do during the South African summertime. We’ve got the rundown of a few different activities and outings that are going down around South Africa this summer.

 

Hop on a sightseeing bus

If you’re a visiting tourist or a curious local you can see more of Cape Town, Joburg or Durban on one of the open-top sightseeing bus tours in these cities. The busses have various stops throughout the cities, allowing you to hop on and off at your leisure. The tours cover the different landmarks and natural highlights of each of the cities.

 

Soak up the sun

Whether it’s lazing on one of the many picturesque beaches or tanning poolside, soaking up the sun in summer is a favourite activity of many South Africans from all around the country. Go to a cricket game

Cricket is South Africa’s most famous summertime sport, and the national cricket side is one of the best in the world. All of the major cities in South Africa have cricket stadiums, and there are plenty of club, provincial and international games that happen all summer long.

 

Enjoy a braai 

There are few things more South African than a braai, and a sunny summer’s day is the perfect setting for one. Everything you need for a braai is available anywhere in South Africa, so all you need to do is add family and some friends to the mix and you’re in for a guaranteed good time.

 

Go on a safari 

South Africa is home to a wide variety of wildlife, and one of the easiest way to see them is on a safari. There are plenty of safari lodges all around the country ranging in booking price, land size and variety of animals.
