The new year is already well under way and that means we can expect loads of cool new gadgets, as well as the latest versions of all of our favourite devices. Here is a short list of our top tech to look forward to in 2017.

 

Samsung Galaxy S8

Following the multitude of problems faced by the Galaxy S7, there is undoubtedly plenty of pressure on Samsung to make the upcoming Galaxy S8 a success. Launching this Spring, the Galaxy S8 is going to be packing some impressive hardware, as is usually the case with the Galaxy series, and a few new features like the Samsung digital assistant.

 

 

 

iPhone 8

Hot on the heels of the Galaxy S8 is the brand new Apple flagship device, the iPhone 8. This year marks the 10th anniversary for the iPhone, and it looks as though Apple are making some big changes. While nothing is confirmed as of yet there are rumours of an all-glass casing, wireless charging and a host of augmented reality features that will be included in the new iPhone.

 

 

 

Nintendo Switch

Following the lukewarm reception of the Wii U, Nintendo are returning to their handheld console roots with the release of the Nintendo Switch. What sets the Switch apart from other gaming systems is it’s hybrid build. The handheld device comes with a 720p screen and two detachable controllers which can be removed so that the device can be attached to a port at your TV to enable a home gaming console.

 

 

 

Windows 10 VR Headset

Expected to release in April, the Windows 10 VR headset is anticipated to be a more affordable option compared to other VR headsets like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Microsoft have partnered with some of the P.C industry’s top manufacturers for the Windows 10 VR headset meaning that it will be compatible with a wide variety of different computers and feature plenty of different accessories.
