Armed with WiFi connectivity, 1080p camera and a sturdy set of wheels; Kuri is a robot designed to help around the house of keeping an eye on your pets and kids and monitor your home while you are away. What stands out immediately is Kuri’s bubbly looks and personality. Apart from being able to play any preloaded audio, Kuri communicates through a series of chirps and beeps that are responses to real-life situations.

What sets Kuri apart is also it’s ability to learn and respond to specific conditions and routines. This means that Kuri will be able to carry out actions like notifying you when your kids get home from school, take photos of your home or set reminders around your daily routine.

Have you ever wished that you had access to your own private sous chef when preparing your meals? Meet Mykie, short for “kitchen-elf”, the countertop assistant that’s here to help you in the kitchen. This robot responds to voice commands, answering your cooking related questions ranging from entire recipes to particular ingredients. After searching for your particular query, Mykie will be able to project cooking videos onto your kitchen wall.

Another interesting feature is that Mykie will be able to sync to your other smart kitchen devices like your oven or fridge and incorporate them into your cooking processes.

While strictly speaking this one isn’t a stand-alone robot; the Lego Boost kit will let you transform any of your own Lego creations into movable robots. The first kit includes multiple motors and programmable bricks that lets you build five different robots straight out of the box, these accessories are also compatible with other Lego parts which will let you build anything your imagination can come up with.

There is also a companion app for Android and iOS that lets you programme your Lego robots to respond to a series of different voice commands.
