Shocking News: The Shock Clock That Replaces Your Snooze Button

0

Make sure you never oversleep again with this simple, yet surprisingly effective gadget.

Developed by a Stanford University graduate, the Pavlok Shock Clock is a wearable device that takes an interesting approach to getting you up in the mornings. Through administrating a series of stimuli; such as small shocks, vibrations or buzzing, the device will help make hitting the snooze button in the mornings a thing of the past.

The Shock Clock was developed using an earlier Pavlok wristband, which was used to help people rid themselves of various bad habits. The biggest difference between the early Pavlok wristband and the Shock Clock is that the former would only shock you if initiated by the wearer, whereas the Shock Clock acts automatically.

The wristband is synched up to your iOS or Android smartphone using a companion app, where you will then set an alarm directly to the device. If being shocked every morning seems like too much of a rude awakening, the user will be able to select different stimuli options. For example, you’ll be able to choose everything from a gentle vibration to an electric zap to get you out of bed in the morning.

While there hasn’t been any news as to when the Pavlok Shock Clock will be available in South Africa, you can purchase it from Amazon for $199.00. This includes the Shock Clock module, a wristband and a charging cable.
