Apple iPhone SE: South African Release Information

0

With pre-registrations already open for the iPhone SE, South Africans can expect a nationwide release of the device on the 14th of April. What can consumers expect from the SE that sets it apart from other Apple smartphones? Let’s have a look at some of the iPhone SE’s key features:

It’s Apple’s smallest smartphone since 2013.

At only 4 inches, the iPhone SE uses the same body structure as the iPhone 5S, but has the same processing power as current Apple smartphones. In a world where smartphones are constantly getting bigger, the SE is ideal for those looking for a more compact mobile device.

It’s as powerful as more expensive devices.

With a A9 chip that includes M9 motion compressor (the same is used in an iPhone 6S) powering the SE, users can expect full “Hey Siri” functionality and up to 14 hours of battery life.

Groundbreaking video recording.

The iPhone SE comes with powerful 4K video recording running at 30 frames-per-second. This means that users will be able to shoot slo-mo video recordings and 63 megapixel panoramas. The rear 12 megapixel camera has faster focusing, better noise reduction and improved tone reductions meaning your photos will be more detailed than ever before.

It’s one of the most affordable iPhones ever.

While there is no definitive pricing for the South African market yet, at the time of writing the iPhone SE was priced at $399 for a 16GB and $499 for a 64GB model according to local retailers (Prices subject to change according to exchange rates). This is significantly cheaper than the current iPhone 6S models, and slightly cheaper than a new 5S.
