Some tricks to preserve battery life on an iOS 7 device

0

It has been 2 weeks since the unveiling of iOS 7 and with the highest ever upgrade to mobile software (iPhone and iPad) – there have been some pitfalls. The first day after the upgrade, you might see your battery being drained. Here are some possible solutions to make the battery life on your device last longer.

If you use twitter and Facebook often, make sure to close the App completely once done as these take a huge chunk out of your battery life.

Switch off your wireless or cellular network and try not have them both running at  the same time. The fact that the latest version of iOS 7 is continuously in search for a connection may also lead to a drained battery.

  1. If you are a heavy email user – have a look at your unread email count. The lower the number, the less connections and calculations need to be done by the email server.
  2. Switch off background app updates as they are also battery intensive processes. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
  3. Stop using Parallax and Dynamic Backgrounds – both are battery drainers. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and activate “Reduce Motion”

Double tap the home button as soon as you have completed using an app. You will see your battery life improving on your Apple device.

Have you found other solutions that have added battery life to your iOS 7 device?
