DSTV Mobile Reveal The Walka 7”

0

Once, twice, three times a trend. The 7” screen size of mobile devices (especially with regards to tablet) is now a trend.

Google started it with their Galaxy Nexus tablet to respond to the iPad which then lead to Amazon responding with their first generation Kindle Fire which was also 7” in screen size (the latest generation Kindle Fire sports an 8.9” screen size). The point is, the 7” screen display is now for real. Don’t be surprised if the iPad mini is 7 inches big.

DSTV mobile has also joined this party with their latest Walka 7 which features a 7” screen. Initially I thought the DSTV Walka 7 was a new tablet but in actual fact it is the bigger brother to the very successful DSTV Walka.

The device carries a recommended retail price of R899 and is expected to be available at retail stores between 8 October 2012 and 14 October 2012. One thing is very clear and that is that the Walka 7” is more for indoor use than moving around with your TV (seen with the Walka).

DSTV Mobile has three channel bouquets to choose from:

  • e.mobile [Free] – eNews, SuperSport Blitz, CNNi, Channel O
  • DSTV Mobile [R49 per month] – SuperSport 1,2,3,4, AfricaMagic, M-Net Series Mobile, Sony Max, Disney XD, Discovery, plus all channels in the e.mobile package.
  • DSTV Mobile for Premium subscribers [Free to Premium subscribers] – all channels in the DSTV Mobile package plus M-Net Mobile.

So, the question is; will you Walka or Walka 7?

Share.
