Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the latest installment of the popular military shooter game has broken the launch day sales record. The mega popular video game generated $400 million in sales and shattered the sales record held by its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Shattering its own day-one sales records, Activision Publishing, Inc.,announced that its highly-anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has become the biggest entertainment launch ever with an estimated sell-through of more than $400 million and more than 6.5 million units in North America and the United Kingdom alone in the first...

The Console gaming war has been taken to new heights with Sony unveiling their newest contender called the PlayStation Vita. Sony has been very quiet on the development front for the last 18 months. Nintendo ( Nintendo 3DS ) and Microsoft (The Kinect) have both already launched new additions to their respective product lines.
I believe the Vita is a direct response to the Nintendo 3DS as Sony has not really evolved the PSP since it was first launched. Handheld gaming at the moment is split between iPod /iPhone gaming, and playing on a Nintendo 3DS. Before this launch, Sony was losing market share...

Microsoft launched the Kinect with great fanfare and the accessory has lead to greater game sales for the Xbox 360.
The Guinness World Records has officially named Kinect for Xbox 360 the fastest-selling consumer electronics device, which sold an average of 133,333 units per day for a total of eight million units in its first 60 days between November 4, 2010 and January 3, 2011.
“The sales...

Last week Activision-Blizzard shocked the entire gaming world by ending the Guitar Hero franchise. The company blamed sluggish sales and excessive music licence costs but I think there are larger issues. Activision-Blizzard is arguably the world’s biggest gaming company but they have had some products that have not lived up to the marketing hype surrounding them. Secondly with regards to the Guitar Hero franchise, the biggest problem is that the developers overdid the amount of products. There were far too many peripherals needed to enjoy the game.
In the space of 6 years, Guitar Hero has gone from...
