I think I have seen the start of a trend and I believe this might be something that will continue to happen in many industries. It started with movies in which writers and directors are going back to the start of a character’s life. Think about the Batman series for example; The Dark Knight (The first of the films directed by Christopher Nolan) goes back to the start of Bruce Wayne’s life. The festive season has illustrated that the compact digital camera industry might have a problem based on personal observations. Remember the VCR that was replaced by the DVD? Well this camera problem is very similar. Digital cameras are being replaced with smart phones. So when photos were taken along roads or at Christmas parties, one would think that the digital camera would be used. Wrong, very wrong. Almost all the picture taking I witnessed had a smart phone doing the flashing and editing. iPhones, Nokias and BlackBerry phones were mostly used.

Nikon have unveiled the new D7000. The SLR is an expansion of a line of mid-class Nikon DX-format digital-SLR cameras which Nikon manufacture. The D7000 can be seen as an upgrade for users that have D90 and D5000.
