It’s been a fair time since the release of 2011’s Rage, but Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic franchise is getting a sequel this week as Rage 2 arrives on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on 14 May. This particular follow-up takes a far more fun and tongue-in-cheek approach to the wasteland-mutant shooter romp; but before you dive into the stores to find yourself a copy of the game, we’ve rounded up the best pre-order prices so that you can get the optimum deal on the release.

And here’s how the retailers stack-up price-wise:

Xbox One

PS4

Takealot R889 R889
Zaps Online R915 R915
BT Games R915 R915
Game 4 U R910 R910
Raru R889 R889
Loot R879 R879

It appears that Loot has the best deal at the moment, offering the standard editions of the game on both Xbox One and PS4 at R879 before delivery costs.

In addition to a ton of crazy weapons, players can also activate special powers and ability boosts – such as a quick teleportation attack – to get an edge in combat. The game also features vehicular combat, including trucks, buggies and gyrocopters, with the player being able to drive any vehicle in the game’s world. It looks like a lot of fun, and we’re excited to dive back into the manic world of Rage.
