Three’s a crowd

Continuing the long-time partnership with Carl Zeiss optics, The Nokia 9 PureView will feature three monochrome sensors and two colour sensors – all of which shoot in HDR simultaneously. When a photo is taken, the five pictures are then combined into a single 12MP photo with incredible depth of field and dynamic range.

It can even shoot in RAW format and the phone has access to Adobe Lightroom mobile, so it’s definitely a smartphone aimed at photography fans. Outside of the exceptional camera setup, the rest of the hardware appears to be in keeping with flagship standards. It has an aluminium body that measures in at only 8mm thick (with no protruding camera module), 6GB RAM/128GB storage, 6-inch OLED QHD+ display, and running Android 9.

In terms of other specs, the dual-SIM Nokia 9 PureView is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, includes 6GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 Pie and is powered by a 3,320mAh non-removable battery.

A lot of smartphone producers have improved their camera offerings in their flagships – but the Nokia 9 PureView might end up blowing all the competition out of the water when it gets released.
