Fighting The Winter Blues

0

Hopefully the last stretch of winter will fly by, unless you can travel to a place where the sun shines and come back home when summer beckons.  If you don’t feel like braving the cold and going out on the town we have put together some cool things you can do in the comfort of your own home.

Get some good DVD’s. If you have some of your own, it’s always good to re-watch and revisit some old favourites. I love It’s Complicated, starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. If not, you can always increase your DVD collection and library with films like Hitchcock, Oblivion and Iron Man 3. The best part is that you can purchase it online…at home.

TV Series are a good way to pass the time as well. You can get lost in a world of almost every genre you can think of. I’m captivated by Suits at the moment. A series about lawyers with some heavy twists in the tale. If you are looking for some laughter, look no further than The Big Bang Theory, the characters and their jokes will have you in stitches.

Having a good book at hand or better yet on the night stand is a good way to spend time inside and away from the cold. Get your hands on the new Dan Brown novel called Inferno and also try out Room by Emma Donoghue. Room is a book you will not be able to put down and you will most likely want to read it in one sitting.

Video games are also a very cool way to pass the time while indoors. Get the new Tomb Raider for hours of fun. This game can be found on both PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Other cool games include God of War: Ascension, Call of Duty and Max Payne.

Another good thing to have handy is some good coffee or tea to keep you warm.

Last but not least. Besides having a blanket or even better yet and electric blanket, make sure you keep your feet warm with an awesome pair of socks by Nicsocks.

So, there you have it…some great ways to keep you totally busy this winter without having to go out or break the bank!
