The HTC Desire Has Arrived

0

HTC continue to keep rolling out mobile phones that showcase high build quality. The HTC Desire is no different as HTC keep building on their positive perception, that the HTC Hero and the Google Nexus One have. They have been the closest to being worthy iPhone challengers in my opinion.

It features a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which will ensure that the Desire is responsive between applications. It also has a 3.7” AMOLED WVGA display which will show great detail. A 5MP colour camera and an internal GPS antenna are features that will entice possible owners from other manufacturers.

The Desire is another superphone and features according to HTC, the most intuitive user interface – HTC Sense. Social media interaction will be made easier for Desire users with Friend Stream.  It takes all the social elements you have stored for your contacts (for example Twitter and Facebook feeds) and display them all in one place, lifestream-style. It’s a really nice way to check what your phone friends (The contacts you have stored on your phone, which are often a different group from the contacts you have on social networks or e-mail) are up to. The interaction between flash and the Android software (which is far from consistent), could be the Desire’s biggest potential weakness.

The HTC Desire is sure to have many users checking their contract renewal dates as HTC continues to grow their adoption rate in South Africa.
